On the forecourt of the old button factory in Wuppertal-Barmen, an archive trail with different stations will be set up in cooperation with CoWerk18 - outside or, if necessary, in the old factory if it rains. On one side of the square there will be an opportunity to have breakfast together. In the middle of the area is a large table with materials from the mAPs project and materials on the latest state of the mAPs publication. In the courtyard hangs a large banner with the inscription: THE POWER OF MEMORY. COUNTER-ARCHIVES and posters with statements and text fragments:

Wie fühlt sich Erinnern an? Lernen wir etwas vom Vergangenen? Was ist die Macht des Vergangenen? Wie kann man Prozesse reflektieren? // What does remembering feel like? Do we learn something from the past? What is the power of the past? How can you reflect processes?

Fragen, die auf spezifische Weise in den jeweiligen Stationen des Parcours wie beispielsweise den mAPs-Prozess, Swans Never Die (Lucia Carolina De Rienzo, COORPI) oder A Worn World (deufert&plischke) weiter beleuchtet werden. SWANS NEVER DIE

Mit Lucia Carolina De Rienzo (COORPI)
In englischer Sparche

What remains today of a choreographic work that is considered a milestone in the history of Western dance at the beginning of the twentieth century? In what forms and bodies has it survived the test of time? Who is collecting this legacy and why? In what cultural and geographical contexts can it resurface? How has it changed over the course of a century through its numerous reissues? What resonance does it have with today's dance artists and what values might this choreographic work convey in the future?

The Swans never die project invites audiences to consider The Dying Swan, a solo considered a landmark in 20th century dance history, as an opportunity to explore style, technique, identity and culture. Travelling between the history and memory of dance, the audience can discover a choreographic work of the past and the many transformations dance has undergone since 1905, when it was first choreographed by Michel Fokine for Anna Pavlova.

A Worn World

Initiated by the German duo deufert&plischke, A Worn World addresses the themes of modesty, desire, pleasure and fear expressed through clothing. In close contact with the skin, the sensitive organ they "touch", they are the direct expression of a personal affirmation: they convey our stories, our memories, evoke our cultures and specific places, reflect sociological and economic biases, exalt our feelings of belonging and our resistance.

Clothing has the power to address important themes such as self-image, gender identity, coming of age, family. A Worn World focuses on the personal, individual, and emotional movements that arise in the clothes we choose to wear and make them vehicles for social interaction.

Based on the presentation of the mAPs work process (best practices) with its different production archives (film production, mentoring program, Script Lab with community) and discussion with experts of the migrating Artists project (mAPs), not only the three-year project with 5 European partners will be presented, but rather the relationship between power, memory and social transformation will be examined.

Was sind unsere Werte? Und wie transformieren wir das Alte? Diskussionen über die Macht des Erinnerns
How did we work? What were the challenges and problems? Which qualities of cooperation could we develop and which not?
